John Grogan and His Paper Trail
Just something I came across . . . John Grogan (author of Marley and Me) talks about his second book, The Longest Trip Home, and how the paper trail he left as a young man was essential to writing this book. For a second or two it doesn’t seem like he’ll talk about it. He discusses the oral tradition in his family first, but wait for it . . . it’s coming.

Thanks for posting this. I loved Marley and Me (I’m a dog person).
Actually, after my dog recently died, I dug up my journal from when we first got him. I realized that I had his birthday off by one day for years (and we were never exactly sure what day he was born to begin with). Those paper trails sure are helpful.
I was not, however, expecting to see John Grogan’s crazy ass curly mane of high school hair!
