I recently spoke with my friend and colleague who became unemployed after several years of service to her former employer. We started talking about cover letters, and she asked if she should paste the cover letter into the message, and then attach the resume, or to send a short note along with a cover letter and resume. I like the idea of placing the cover letter above the resume as a single attachment to avoid the risk of an overlooked cover letter. A link to letterlover was promptly forwarded to my friend, the career placement department of my grad school program, as well as a career coach/placement firm. Thank you for bringing this article to our attention.
