To Russia, With Love
What I wouldn’t give to get my hands on the secret letter President Obama sent to Russian President Dmitri A. Medvedev. The language must be bold and epic. There really is no casual way to say, “Okay, how about this: I’ll stop deploying a new missile defense system in Eastern Europe if you knock some sense into Iran and get them to stop developing long-range weapons. We can shake on it next time I see you.” I wonder if Medvedev read it right away or waited until after lunch. I wonder if there’s a difference between regular White House stationery and Top Secret White House stationery.
Can’t we just see it? C’mon! It’s not a secret anymore. Oh wait, maybe it self-destructed.
