The ones you questions (Tweetdeck, Tweetphon, etc.) are applications for the iPhone/G1. Rather than using the text feature or browser, they allow you to see just your feed and have other features that make following/responding/RTing/linking easier to do and read.

As for where people tweet from, that can be misleading.

Some people have Tweetdeck as an application on their computer as well as their phone. So they may very well be sitting down and taking a moment from work to do Tweet.

I know a guy who tweets from his phone at work rather than logging into the website because of various web-locks.

As for myself - my tweets always show "from the web" but I have no internet at home and am tweeting from my phone, which happens to have wifi and a web-browser.

Thanks Christina. I probably should have admitted upfront that my cell phone is from 1988 (or not longer after), and I know nothing of new fancy phone apps. I suppose I could update from text, but don't feel compelled.

I just saw a new one: From Twittelator. Any ideas? Another app?

Yes, I "tweet" from second star to the right and straight on till morning! After all, life is one big adventure--and I'm trying to figure out what my next big one will be...

I don't understand the offered locations, either. I'm fine enough "tweeting" from web!
