Letter Lover

The Serenity of Letter Writing

Pardon me, I’m just going to marvel aloud at another benefit of writing letters: The sanity

I just sent a letter to a friend asking for a favor—a BIG favor. I must say my mind is at ease because I sent the request through the mail. Had I sent an e-mail, I’d be paranoid right now. Has he read it? What does he think? He’s not responding! Does that mean he doesn’t like me anymore? Is he mad at me for even asking? And there is none of that. I’m calm knowing that the letter won’t get there until Friday at the earliest. By then I’ll be focused on heading to the beach, so there’s a chance I’ll forget I even asked. He may be going away for the weekend, too. Therefore he may not see it/read it until Sunday night or Monday.

My favor isn’t needed until October, so there’s no rush surrounding the response or the situation in general. Yes, I am quite pleased with myself for asking via letter.

That’s all. Carry on!
