Love & Learn

And now for my favorite Freudian slip of the week: I was e-mailing my friend Dana and gave her the rundown of a relationship that didn’t work out. I closed with the cliché, “live and learn.” Dana wrote back and said, “BTW- I love the phrase love and learn…can’t think of a better way to summarize things like that.”

I went back and saw, sure enough, I had inadvertently written “love and learn.” One letter off and the whole thing changes—for the better, I think. When we say “live and learn” we’re often talking about love anyway, so there you have it—a new phrase. Feel free to use at your leisure.

Bon weekend!
